Sentigermum

Hi, I’m Kathryn—founder of SENTigerMum, in my 40s, and mum to two wonderful children with a mixture of special educational needs.

It’s been a journey.

For years, I’ve been advocating for my little ones—navigating the complex world of EHCPs, school placements, and support systems, all while juggling work and life in the middle of chaos. And while it wasn’t easy, we’re now in a place where we’re finally thriving—but getting here took strength, resilience, and a lot of learning.

There was a moment, right in the thick of it, when I realised: we weren’t all thriving. We were surviving. And I knew something had to change—not just for my children, but for me too. That’s when I made the decision to do things differently, to shift the focus from just fighting fires to building a better future for all of us.

This path hasn’t been smooth. The emotional toll of advocating for your child’s most basic needs—just to be seen, supported, and understood—can be exhausting, both mentally and physically. And it can be incredibly lonely.

That’s why I started SENTigerMum.

Mum turned TigerMum by necessity, not choice—fighting for my amazing SEN children every step of the way. Sharing honest experiences, hard-won knowledge, and support for parents walking a similar path.
